CONCORD, N.C. -- Concord police officers staked out the intersection of Cabarrus Avenue and Branchview Drive on Tuesday morning handing out fliers seeking information about a deadly double shooting last Friday. At the same time, a family prepared to bury one of the victims gunned down during an apparent robbery at the Sun Drop Bottling Company. The pictures from a marriage celebration several years ago show happier times when Darrell Noles gave his daughter away. Now Noles’ family is grieving as he's laid to rest.Noles is the man who was shot to death while he applied for a job at the business. Dr, Ronnie Simpson was his pastor and preached Noles funeral Tuesday afternoon. The pastor said he was out of town when the shooting happened.“We drove all the way in and cried. It took a long time, and for the family it's going to be like that too," he said. Also killed in the shooting was Donna Barnhardt, a long-time employee at the plant. A man who was seen running from the business hasn't been found.Police and canines tracked the shooter to a popular greenway nearby, but the dogs then lost the scent. Neighbors said they’re frightened, and police are also concerned the shooter could act again. That's why police said they’re handing out fliers near the scene of the crime. Detectives hope to get information that leads them to the killer.Neighbors and family members can only hope the man responsible is stopped before he hurts someone else."He robbed that family, robbed the church, and I think there will be closure if an arrest is made. There's no animosity. It's a wicked man who did a random act of violence," Simpson said.Simpson said Noles had just lost his job because of the economy but was going to get his job back. He hadn't been notified yet when he stopped at Sun Drop to apply.RELATED STORY: Longtime Worker, Job Applicant Killed At Charlotte-Area Soft Drink Plant RELATED STORY: Police Release Names Of 2 Killed At Beverage Bottling Company In Concord
