CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A local marine received a hero’s welcome home.

Dozens of Chuck McGregor's neighbors lined up along streets in the Providence Point subdivision, in south Charlotte on Friday afternoon.

Some waved flags, others held balloons and signs to welcome the U.S. marine home after completing two tours as an embedded advisor to Iraqi soldiers.

"It's pretty humbling," said Major McGregor.

Neighbor Tammy Krauthamer organized the homecoming festivities for McGregor.

"His family, and all the military families have just sacrificed so much so we can have the freedom to live in a neighborhood like this," said Krauthamer.
