CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police are searching for three men who smashed their way into a woman’s home in east Charlotte early Wednesday morning.

The woman told police her two young sons were with her in the home when the men smashed through a window to get into the home. She said one man even fired a gun.

It happened on Holbrook Drive just after 1 a.m. The victim and her children were not hurt.

Police said the suspects drove away in the victim’s 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe. Officers described the vehicle as a champagne color with a North Carolina license plate WYX 2951.

Authorities warn the suspects are armed and dangerous and if anyone sees them they should call police.
