Man Falls Asleep While Driving, Crashes In Iredell County

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- A man is recovering at a hospital after apparently falling asleep at the wheel in Iredell County.Police were called out to the crash scene on Red Chimney Road around 7 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators said they believe the driver of the car was nodding off, ran off the road and then overcorrected.Police said the car flipped and the driver was thrown 65 feet from the car.The driver is being cared for at Carolinas Medical Center.
