LINCOLNTON, N.C. -- "Time will tell," said Johnny Houser, as he stood at the banks of the rising creek behind his home in Lincolnton. "You just got to wait and see. It's a wait and see game."Tuesday night he and several of his neighbors in the Ivy Oaks Trailer Park stayed up to watch the creek the surrounds their community.Flood waters rose to Houser's back door and fell. He and his neighbors fear they won't be so lucky Wednesday night."I don't like it. You know what I'm saying?" he asked. The community typically floods anytime the area sees a couple of days of hard rain. Neighbors said it came very close to flooding Tuesday night. The waters breached he banks and reached Johnny Houser's back step."I've been down here three years and I ain't never seen anything like it."Many of the people who live in the community have already made plans to move to higher ground if the water rises. Most believe the flooding will be brief. They are hoping that if the area floods they will be able to return hope in a matter of a few hours.
