Witnesses: Woman Hit By Car Ran In Front Of It

LINCOLNTON, N.C. -- A woman was taken to the hospital Saturday night after being hit by a car in Lincolnton.Witnesses told police that Monica Littlejohn, 33, ran into the road and in front of an oncoming car on Riverside Drive. It happened just before 9 p.m. in front of the Southern Convenience Store. Officers said Littlejohn ran from the store toward West Water Street Extension.Police said she was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center, where she was in fair condition Sunday morning.Officers said the driver of the car that hit Littlejohn will not be charged.
