CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police major may be demoted.

A hearing started Monday for Maj. Chuck Johnson. The police department said he violated the department's use of force policy during an arrest at Speed Street in uptown Charlotte in May.

The civil review board is expected to make their decision sometime Tuesday afternoon.
