CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One person was taken to the hospital after a shooting on Central Avenue Friday night.

Police said it happened around 10:30 p.m. Medic transported the victim to Carolinas Medical Center, but it is unclear how serious the victim’s injuries were.

Officers patrolled the area between The Plaza and Eastway Drive.

Authorities have not released a description of the shooter or the identity of the victim. Officers had to bring in translators to talk to some of the possible witnesses.
