Pilot Smells Smoke, Makes Emergency Landing At CDI

An airplane was forced to make an emergency landing at Charlotte Douglas International Airport Friday night.

Firefighters surrounded a Lufthansa plane once it landed safely.

The pilot complained of smoke in the cockpit shortly after the plane took off from CDI at 7 p.m. About 190 people were on board.

The plane was evacuated without any problems.

Firefighters said they do not what caused the smoke. Crews are investigating.
