Man Charged In 9-Year-Old's Stanly County Shooting Death

STANLY COUNTY, N.C. -- Stanly County authorities said they have arrested the man who fired a bullet that hit a 9-year-old boy in the head, killing him.Officers said 21-year-old Olandus Blakeney started shooting during a church event earlier this month. Police said Blakeney was trying to kill Antonio Owens, but a stray bullet hit Jamoire Hall, who was at the event with his grandparents.Sheriff Rick Burris said others at the event helped them make the arrest."We could not have done it without the information we obtained from witnesses. They were giving us names which we followed up on," he said.Police have also arrested Cadaron Tyson in connection with the shooting.
