Authorities say they have caught a gunman suspected of shooting a fellow student at Savannah State University. Campus Police Chief Thomas Trawick said the wounded student knew the suspect and that the shooting Friday morning happened during a fight between them. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police spokeswoman Judy Pal identified the suspect as 19-year-old Devon McIntosh. She said a police dog sniffed him out and officers found him hiding in the trunk of a car on campus. The wounded student's name has not been released. University spokeswoman Loretta Heyward said the shooting happened between 11 a.m. and noon Friday at the historically black college on Savannah's south side. The campus of 3,400 students along Georgia's coast was locked down immediately afterward but reopened after the gunman was in custody.
