CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Construction has closed a major road going into Uptown Charlotte.Crews are continuing their work above ground and underground on a water main project on Morehead Street near South Boulevard in Dilworth. They’ll connect a new water pipe to an existing water main under Morehead Street.It’s supposed to improve water service in Charlotte.The work is expected to cause some traffic back ups or delays.The project is not expected to interrupt water service, although some people may see slightly discolored water. The utility department said people may need to run the cold water for a few minutes until it clears up.For an alternate route around the project, just click here.
