Police Write 50 Plus Tickets In Overnight Checkpoint

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers wrote a total of 56 tickets late Friday night into Saturday morning at a checkpoint in south Charlotte.Police were stationed in the 1400 block of Providence Road.Here’s a break-down of the tickets from overnight:• DWI Charges – 7• Open Container of Alcohol – 8• Possession/Consumption of Alcohol, less than 21 – 5• Driving While License Revoked – 4• No Operator’s License – Other Citations - 25
