CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- More details are emerging in the case against a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools teacher charged with raping his son's girlfriend.Former Ranson Middle School teacher Ernest Nichols was in court Wednesday for a bond hearing. The judge made some changes to his bond, but the dollar figure stayed the same at $810,000.Prosecutors said Nichols told the 15-year-old girl that he and his son "came as a package deal."Prosecutors believe Nichols also videotaped his son and the girl having sex, and he sometimes joined in himself. They said Nichols rubbed the girl's shoulders to relax her before a shoot.Prosecutors said they watched some of the tapes and saw the girl resist, and that, in one case, Nichols spent 15 minutes getting her to give in.They said that based on what they saw Nichols's son, who recently turned 16, may end up facing charges, too. They said they passed the videos along to federal agents to possibly file federal pornography charges.Prosecutors said they are concerned that if Nichols is released from jail, he might try to destroy evidence. They said he tried to erase some tapes, but the data was recovered. The girl's mother and father called Nichols a dangerous man, saying he would "lure young girls for his sick pleasures."They said Nichols threatened the girl to keep her quiet, and now that Nichols is behind bars, his son is stalking her by calling and texting her, trying to intimidate her.Nichols has been married more than 20 years.
