CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police are asking drivers to avoid a south Charlotte road after a water geyser shot out of a broken pipe Wednesday night.Police feared a tree could fall and blocked all lanes of Runnymede Lane between Selwyn Avenue and Barclay Downs Drive Wednesday night. Officers said the geyser shot over power lines at least 25 feet high at one point. The water gushed out of the broken 24-inch pipe, but was not flooding any nearby homes or businesses.Chunks of rocks flew into the air when the pipe burst on Runnymede Lane, but no one was hurt.Continue checking WSOCTV.com and Traffic Team 9 for more updates.
