Landmark Charlotte Advertisement Coming Down

Posted: 11:27 am EST November 2, 2009Updated: 8:51 pm EST November 2, 2009

A Charlotte landmark is coming down.

Crews are working to tear down an advertisement near Bank of America Stadium.

The JFG coffee billboard has been up in the Queen City for more than 40 years, making it the longest-running billboard campaign in the city’s history. It was moved to its present location during the building of the John Belk Freeway in 1989.

OrthoCarolina will be the new advertiser. It plans to pay tribute to the old billboard by also displaying three oversized letters on the billboard to advertise its ACL services.
