Crash Downs Power Lines, Causes Traffic Delays

Police in Charlotte said a driver crashed and knocked down power lines on Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road near Pump Station Road in northwest Charlotte.

Officers said the driver had been drinking and will face DWI charges. The crash happened Thursday around 1 a.m.

Duke Energy crews are at the scene, but the supervisor said it could be 9 a.m. before they are finished.

One lane of traffic is open. Crews are letting alternate lanes go to help keep the traffic flowing. Click Here For Alternate Routes
