CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police investigated a shooting in front of Johnson C. Smith University Monday morning.

A female student was shot while riding back to the school on an old school bus, just after 3 a.m. Monday, officers said.

Investigators said the shooting was the result of a dispute during a party.

They do not know who or what company the bus belongs to.

The student is expected to survive.

Police said the shooter was last seen driving away in a green Jeep.
