MORGANTON, N.C. -- A fire heavily damaged a home near Morganton Tuesday morning.A single mother and her four children got out of the Baird Circle home safely.Eyewitness News was there as firefighters worked to put out the flames.Firefighters said they think the fire started in a bedroom, and then spread to the attic.It destroyed the family’s Christmas tree and gifts. The Red Cross has been contacted to help the family find a place to stay.
