CHARLOTTE -- A special meeting Wednesday night at a school in Charlotte brought parents together to discuss concerns about overcrowding and violence.
Martin Middle School on IBM Drive has 1900 students and recently added 16 security officers to patrol the campus.
Superintendent Dr. James Pughsley met with parents, and pitched a plan to give 202 rising sixth graders the option of attending the new Lambeth Middle School.
Those students live within two miles of Lambeth, which will become their home school anyway in 2004.
Sixty-nine families are requesting transfers from Martin Middle School.
