CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex.

Police said a person was shot in the leg around 8:15 p.m. Sunday at an apartment on Marvin Road in the Grier Heights neighborhood.

The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have not released a motive behind the shooting.

It's unclear if police have anyone in custody.
