CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Firefighters responded to a house fire in the Myers Park area early Wednesday morning.Officials said a family of three woke up at about 6 a.m. and smelled smoke. The mom, dad and child ran out of the house with the family dog and called 911 from a cell phone.Firefighters reported seeing smoke coming from the attic of the home on Tranquil Avenue, off Selwyn Avenue.
The Charlotte Fire Department said it took 31 firefighters a little more than 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.No one was hurt. Investigators believe the fire might have been caused by an electrical wire and are now working to confirm the cause of the fire.
