Posted: 10:43 p.m. EST January 13, 2004

Tuesday night, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board named a new principal at E.E. Waddell High School.

The former principal, Michael Faulkner resigned in December.

Faulkner says he was attacked on school grounds in November last year.

The board suspended Faulkner during a police investigation into what happened.

Then in December, Faulkner resigned after meeting with the school district.

Board members named Edward D. Ellis the principal. He formerly served as principal at Crestdale Middle School.
