CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Due to the inclement weather, some additional cancellations have been announced for this weekend. These cancellations were made with the safety of students, families and staff members in mind. The following is a list of weekend cancellations: · The High School Boys and Girls Sectional Basketball Tournament schedule has been revised. Games scheduled in Mecklenburg County have been rescheduled for Monday, March 1. See schedule below: Monday, March 1, 2004 Boys' - Freedom at Butler @ 7:00 PM (Semi-finals) Boys' - Myers Park at West Charlotte @ 7:00 PM (Semi-finals) Boys' - Providence at Garinger @ 6:00 PM (Semi-finals) Girls' - McDowell at Garinger @ 7:30 PM (Finals)

The following CMS high schools scheduled to play out of county in the sectional playoff will also play on Monday, March 1 at the following schools: Girls' - Vance at East Forsyth @ 7:00 PM Girls' - Butler at A.C. Reynolds @7:00 PM Boys' - North Mecklenburg at West Forsyth @ 7:00 PM Boys' - Independence at East Burke @ 7:00 PM

Tuesday, March 2 Boys' - Sectional finals to be played at higher seed @ 7:00 PM

· For the safety of our student athletes and coaches, no athletic practices will be permitted on Saturday, February 28.

· Oakhurst Elementary--Carnival of Character scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28 has been postponed to Saturday, March 6 from 11 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

· Kennedy Middle--The Power of Girls session scheduled for Saturday, February 28 from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. has been cancelled. (schools involved include J.T. Williams Middle, Quail Hollow Middle, Randolph Middle, Kennedy Middle, Sedgefield Middle, and Eastway Middle)

· Professional Development Center (PDC)--Positive Options program, scheduled for Saturday, is cancelled.

· All Saturday classes (Saturday Academy) have been cancelled.

· All drivers' education classes have been cancelled.

· All field trips have been cancelled.
