HUDSON, N.C. -- Students at a high school in Hudson will now be allowed to wear T-shirts with Confederate flags on them.
The Hickory Daily Record says South Caldwell High School is lifting its ban on the controversial shirts.Twenty-five students were sent home from school last week because they refused to take off the shirts.Students and parents protested saying they were just expressing their southern heritage.The principal sent home a letter to parents apologizing for the ban.He said the controversy took away from teaching and learning.
