Easley, Officials Break Ground On Newton Plant

NEWTON, N.C. -- Gov. Mike Easley joined area and company leaders to break ground for a new manufacturing facility Thursday in the Danner Industrial Park in Newton.
ZF Lemforder Corporation's new manufacturing plant will supply parts for the automobile industry.The 150,000 square-foot plant will create 200 jobs and up to $28.8 million in additional investment for the area."ZF Lemforder Corporation's decision to invest in Catawba County will mean sustainable, high skill, high paying manufacturing jobs for the area," Easley said in a statement. "This is the kind of work that will not go offshore."
