Teen Fights Off Attacker

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police are looking for a man they say attacked and attempted to rape a 17-year-old girl on Wednesday in east Charlotte.Police say the teen was walking down Reddman Road when a man approached her and pushed her into some woods and told her to take off her clothes.
The teen was able to fight off the attack and run to a nearby house and call a friend.Police say the man told the victim she was lucky to get away.The victim told a guidance counselor at school the next day about the attack.The counselor said she needed to tell her parents.Police say she told a friend about the attack who then informed her grandmother.The victim's grandmother alerted police.Police are looking for a black man who stands 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds.The man has a small, thin build and an Afro.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600.
