4 to file lawsuit aganist 'Vortex' operator, owner

RALEIGH, N.C. — Four people hurt on a ride at the North Carolina state fair are expected to file a $150 million lawsuit against the ride's owner and the company that runs the fair Thursday.

In October, the Vortex started as people were getting off the ride.

Operator Tim Tutterow and ride owner Josh Macaroni face assault charges.

Investigators say Tutterow tampered with the ride's safety features.

Lawyers say one of the four people filing the suit is still in the hospital with brain and spinal cord injuries.
