Faulkner Indicted For Obstruction Of Justice

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Michael Faulkner was indicted by a grand jury on Monday, Jan. 10. He was the principal at E.E. Waddell High School, in November of 2003.The indictment says Faulkner obstructed justice by falsely reporting to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department that he had been the victim of an assault, when he wasn't a victim.Faulkner was indicted while he was the assistant principal of West Mecklenburg High School, but the incident happened while he was principal at Waddell High School.In November of 2003, Faulkner claimed he was attacked, beaten and stabbed when he confronted three people spray painting a wall at Waddell.There was an extensive police investigation shortly after the incident.Faulkner was suspended and then he resigned.Monday's indictment will now make its way through the superior court in Mecklenburg County.
