CHARLOTTE -- On the eighth anniversary of their daughter's disappearance, a local family is lending support in the search for Natalee Holloway in Aruba.
Kristen Modafferi was an 18-year-old from Charlotte who was doing a summer study program at University of California at Berkeley when she disappeared.
Since Holloway disappeared four weeks ago, Kristen's mother Debbie has felt her family's pain.
Now a foundation set up in Kristen's memory by family friend Joan Petruvski is helping Halloway's family.
They're donating money to help send a special search team to Aruba.
Money from the Kristen Foundation is still helping Kristen's family.
This summer the foundation is paying for Debbie and her husband to fly out to San Franciso, where they'll be meeting the new detective who's now investigating Kristen's case.
