CHARLOTTE -- Neighbors who live in the Historic South End community met today to discuss issues facing their community.
The Light Rail project topped the evening's agenda at the Dowd YMCA Community Room.
South End residents heard about plans to close the trolley and replace it with the light rail line.
They also discussed the increased presence of police in the South End area.
Michael Smith, of Charlotte Center City Partners, told Eyewitness News the increased police presence is part of the economic growth of the area.
Police stepped up patrols in South End at the beginning of the month.
