CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have a new tool to help them find suspects wanted for violent crimes.Police unveiled their latest plan to catch robbery suspects on Wednesday -- a mobile billboard of criminal suspects.Officials said the idea is to get the pictures of robbery and violent crime suspects to the public. The program is a joint effort between Charlotte-Mecklenburg Crime Stoppers and C-Mobile Billboard.Authorities plan to have the mobile billboards driven during high-traffic times and taken to special events."It's something that folks haven't seen. I think it's something that folks will pay attention to, especially if it's driving along the streets and highways. We are a very mobile society. We're in our vehicles all day," said Detective Perry Beaver.Officials said they have caught three out of five criminal suspects as a result of the stationary billboards. They hope to catch even more with the mobile billboards.
