Police in one local town are worried a new gang might have a growing presence there.

Someone spray-painted an "A" on the backside of Peak Fitness Gym on Highway 51. Officer Nick French says the symbol could be from a gang that originated in Mexico.

"It could mean that a new gang is moving into the area, and when new gangs move in the area they tend to get into conflict with gangs that have been around for awhile," French said.

Police say the best thing to do if you see gang grafitti is to report it, then remove it as quickly as possible.
