Posted: 10:59 am EDT May 25, 2006Updated: 3:27 pm EDT May 25, 2006

Two teenagers stole goats and cows from pastures in western Rowan County and then sold them at livestock auctions, investigators said Thursday.

Detectives said they caught the two in the act of stealing and recovered stolen farm animals.

Cory Foster and Daniel Black, both 19, were charged with stealing the animals.

Deputies returned 17 goats to one farmer who had reported only eight stolen.

Some of his goats were pregnant and gave birth after they were stolen.

The farmer received the goats and their offspring.
