Teenager Charged With Drunken Driving 2 Years After Friend Dies Of Alcohol Poisoning

CORNELIUS, N.C. -- Eyewitness News learned a 17-year-old was charged with drunken driving two years after his friend died of alcohol poisoning.Police in Cornelius arrested Ryan Pittsonberger Sunday night. A witness called police after he saw Pittsonberger running over trash cans in a neigborhood.Pittsonberger's name may sound familiar. His mother, Dana Pittsonberger, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter after another teenager, Michael Duni, died of alcohol poisoning after a party at their home in Huntersville. She served a four-month sentence last year after admitting she provided liquor for the party.Pittsonberger is still under supervised probation. It's reported that Pittsonberger's probation officer is looking into the case since one of the terms of the probation is an alcohol ban in her home.Police are investigating where Ryan Pittsonberger got the alcohol.
