Action 9: Stores with the best return policies

On Christmas Eve, many of you are thinking about opening gifts. But, come Friday, many will be thinking of returning some.

Experts say Dec. 26 is the biggest return day of the year.  In fact, they claim the average person returned four of their gifts last year.

The personal finance website, GOBankingRates.com, came up with this of 12 stores with the best return policies:
-COSTCO
-Kohl's
-LL Bean
-Lowe's
-Macy's
-Nordstrom
-REI
-Target
-The Home Depot
-Toys "R" Us
-Walmart
-Zappos

The list is not a surprise to shoppers at Target in the University area.

"They're good about it. If it's from Target, they usually know and they're pretty good about returning it," Jineen Kotwicki said.

GOBankingRates looked at:
-whether you need a receipt
-how long you have to return
-how easy it is to return online purchases in the store
-whether you get money, or just store credit

The group sent Action 9 an email, saying, "Your gifts -- however thoughtful they are -- are more likely to be returned this season than any other time of the year; give your friends and family the extra gift of an easy return process..."

Action 9 would like to know if you have any stores you'd like to add to this list, or anywhere you've had a hard time returning and even exchanging items.  Go to the WSOCTV Facebook page and comment with the same story or Tweet @Action9.
