Afternoon showers to roll through before dry, warm weather arrives

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Temperatures around Charlotte will begin to warm after a cool start to Wednesday morning. Highs should be in the upper 60s this afternoon.

Some rain is still on track to arrive for the afternoon as spotty showers are moving into the mountains now and will enter the metro area after lunch time.

A few very brief downpours could arrive between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.in the Queen City. There will be no big impact during afternoon rush hour, but you might want to keep some rain gear with you just in case.

The showers will roll out of Charlotte overnight and dry weather will remain into the weekend – bringing with it a big warm-up.

Highs are forecasted to be in the 70s Thursday and 80s Friday.
