• ‘American Idol' winner Scotty McCreery victim of home invasion

RALEIGH - According to ABC affiliate WTVD, “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery and friends were victims of a home invasion style robbery in the 2100 block of Raleigh’s Wolf Tech Lane just before 2 a.m. Monday.

The area is an apartment complex near North Carolina State University where McCreery is a student.

Raleigh Police say three armed men came into the home and took wallets, cash and electronic items before fleeing.

In a 911 call released by police, one of the people in the apartment told an operator “They took everything we have.”

The caller said the robbers told the group to count down from 100 before they were allowed to get up.
