CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Carolina Renaissance Festival, which is one of the largest Renaissance fairs nationwide, has returned to the Charlotte area.
The popular festival features outdoor theater, an arts and crafts marketplace, a jousting tournament and other entertainment. The festival began in 1994 with six acres of exhibits and attractions, and has since grown to fill 20 acres.
The 19th annual event will be open for seven weekends, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., from Oct. 6 to Nov. 18. It’s located north of Charlotte, between Concord and Huntersville on Highway 73 at Poplar Tent Road.
