Temperatures expected to rise by end of week

CHARLOTTE — It's another stellar day with highs in the low 80s, low humidity and brilliant sunshine, according to chief meteorologist Steve Udelson.
 
The theme the next few days will be more sunshine with warmer temperatures – the highs will be in the 90s by Thursday -- and more humidity. 
 
Rain chances will be confined to the mountains Thursday, Friday and probably Saturday as well. By Sunday and Labor Day, there may be some afternoon storms that will push into the Charlotte area.

Cristobal is stillat 75 mph. hurricane and will make its closest approach to the NC coast Wednesday afternoon. Read more about Cristobal.

There may be high surf and rip currents. These issues will be gone by Labor Day weekend.
