CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

John Prosperi grabs a soda and heads to his recliner to watch a movie on his 63-inch Samsung plasma TV.

HE then sees a pink-ish purple streak ...

"Here you go right here, right now. You see this purple band right across the screen there," he said.

John said in 2011, Samsung replaced the panel in his TV, under warranty, to correct the problem. But he said eight months later, after the warranty expired, the streaking reappeared.

"We are seeing it again now, all over again. The exact same problem," said John.

This time Samsung has told John it will replace the TV only if it can't be repaired and he has to pay for the repair, but John thinks the streaks would eventually come back.

"Makes me feel pretty bad, like I got taken for a ride or something. It is like Samsung does not want to stick by their product," said John.

Action 9 checked with Samsung's website and found other complaints about pinkish streaks on plasma TV's.

Action 9 then got in touch with the company and it offered to exchanges John's TV for a new one as a courtesy.

A spokesperson said it takes all consumer issues very seriously.

John is now enjoying his new TV, and amazed at how quickly Action 9 got Samsung to act.

"Literally the day after you got involved Samsung called me, I was so surprised," said John.

John said if you have a Samsung TV with pinkish bands on the screen to complain and be persistent.
