This past weekend was the coldest weekend here in Southern California with temperatures falling downwards of 14 degrees.  For those of you folks that live in climates that reach lower lows, I know it may sound very wimpish of us to complain, but this is a city that prides itself on beautiful weather all year-round (I mean flawless weather).

I can tell that lots of folks stayed home, so I'm interested in finding out if online sales went up and store sales went down.  I went to my local Dollar Tree on Sunday and guess what, not a single person but myself and in a normal scenario there's always a line that runs the length of the store.

With temperatures that are extremely chilling, even for a Chicagoan like myself, I will be doing a lot of online shopping this week.  The top of my shopping list will include an energy efficient space heater.  We have 4 space heaters that spike our electricity bill by double, so we need something that won't eat up too much electricity.  With that said, here are this week's top 5 deals:

Deal #1: Even though we are still in the midst of a cold winter season, retailers are trying to get of their winter inventory to make way for the spring arrivals.  For us consumers, we get the best deals when they're clearing out past season's inventory.  Right now, Tommy Hilfiger has a coupon for an extra 50% off sale items.  Expires 1/27/2013.

Deal #2: Who doesn't love getting fashionable clothing for a lot less money?  I believe that is why many of the fashion chains including H&M, Forever 21 and Papaya have been successful.  They offer fashion at a fraction of the cost so it could be affordable by everyone.  With this coupon from Forever 21, you save an extra 50% on sale items.  Expires 1/21/2013.

Deal #3: Babies, babies, babies!  We will be welcoming many cute little babies to our Savings.com family in 2013.  It's never to early to start shopping for these little bundle of joys and you bet we will be taking advantage of the coupons on the site. Whether you need to purchase baby clothing for your child or as a gift, right now there is a buy one, get one 50% off sale at Hanna Andersson.  Expires 3/10/2013.

Deal #4: I love all the winter clearance sales that are going on right now.  You have the potential to save a lot more on new items than purchasing used items at yard sales and re-sale stores.  During the Winter Clearance Blowout Sale, you can save up to 80% with this coupon from The Children's Place.  I have been seeing this deal posted on Facebook and all across the blogosphere which confirms how much of a great deal it is!  Expires 1/21/2013.

Deal #5:  It's a new year and it's time to stock up on some good reads to help you accomplish your health related goals.  With this coupon from Sourcebooks, you can save 50% off on health, diet and wellness books.  Expires 1/31/2013.
