Rain chances diminish bringing ideal conditions for weekend

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Showers and storms pushed south of Interstate 40 Friday afternoon with most passing west of Charlotte late afternoon into early evening bringing some pop-up showers.

Heavy rain will be the greatest threat.

The front responsible for the disturbance will settle in the southwest mountains and South Carolina Midlands later Saturday with a diminished chance of rain.

High temperatures will be in low-to-mid 80s with a possibility of a shower Saturday especially in the mountains.

Ideal weather conditions are in store for Sunday with plentiful sunshine, low humidity and high temperatures in the low 80s.
