Annual NC sales tax holiday set for Aug. 3-5

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

The annual North Carolina sales tax holiday is set for Aug. 3-5.

Shoppers can save money on certain purchases, like clothing, school supplies and computers. 

The event exempts clothing, footwear and school supplies of $100 or less per item; school instructional materials of $300 or less per item; sports and recreational equipment of $50 or less per item; computers of $3,500 or less per item; and computer supplies of $250 or less per item from sales tax. 

The holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3 and lasts until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5.
