Cupcake, frozen yogurt shops to open in Dilworth

The Dilworth neighborhood just got a little sweeter.

Three new family-friendly eateries are set to open at 1300 East Boulevard, including a cupcake bakery, frozen yogurt shop and a sub shop.

Smallcakes Cupcakery was featured on the first and second seasons of The Food Network’s Cupcake Wars and since then has expanded, bringing its 22nd location to Charlotte.  The cupcake bake shop features daily fresh baked and iced cupcakes in 15 signature flavors.

“Dilworth is such a vibrant community and we can’t wait to contribute to the neighborhood feel with several new dining options,” said co-owner Nick Smith.

The FreshBerry Frozen Yogurt Café will also open at the same location.  It will be the 4th FreshBerry location in N.C. and the first to open in Charlotte.  FreshBerry provides all natural frozen yogurt with a wide range of toppings along with a smoothie bar.

Jersey Mike’s Subs will also open at the location in Dilworth.  There are currently seven Jersey Mike’s locations in Charlotte.

Smith said they are looking to open the first week in June.
