Levine Museum of the New South offering free admission to celebrate MLK Jr.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
The Levine Museum of the New South is offering free admission on Sunday and Monday to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr.
The two-day celebration will include exhibits, activities and performances. Events planned for Sunday include crafts, story time and screenings of films that examine the meanings of democracy and activism. On Monday, the museum will offer activities including dance, drumming and a family kite-making craft.
This year’s event also marks the opening of the new exhibit “Fighting for Democracy: Who is the ‘We’ in ‘We the People’?”
Admission is free from 12-4 p.m. on Sunday and from 10-4 p.m. on Monday. The museum is located on E. Seventh Street in uptown.
