N.C. shatters record for spending from movies, TV

NORTH CAROLINA —

North Carolina shattered its record for direct spending from movies and TV shows.

The state's film office said nearly 50 movie and TV projects brought in more than $376 million to the state.

That number breaks last year's record of $220 million.

The award-winning show "Homeland' is mostly filmed in Charlotte and "The Hunger Games" was filmed in several nearby places.
