Friday outlook: Today will be the last really warm day the Charlotte region will get to enjoy for a while. High temperatures again will warm to near 80 degrees, just like Thursday. A weak cold front will come through Friday afternoon, but all we’ll see is just a few more high clouds.

Weekend plans: That front will cool us down a bit for the weekend, with highs only warming to near 70 degrees on Saturday. More cloud cover arrives this weekend, but dry weather will remain in place for most. Although the mountains will see a few light showers on Sunday, the better rain chances hold off until early next week.
