Former Catawba College coach indicted on molestation charges

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A grand jury has indicted a former Catawba College coach on charges of molesting a boy more than 20 years ago.

Ralph Wager was arrested on the criminal charges in June.

Authorities said he met the boy working at Catawba in the 1980's.

Investigators think some of the abuse may have happened in Wager's campus home and office.

Catawba College hasn't released many details about its investigation.

The school's former provost said a swim club once requested Wager not be allowed near the pool during club meetings.
