CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Stifling heat is set to return Monday after the Charlotte region experienced a great stretch of weather for the holiday weekend.
Temperatures will peak in the lower 90s Monday afternoon with more humidity building in.
The hottest day of the week will be on Wednesday -- with highs in the mid-90s -- but the heat index will make it feel close to 100 degrees.
Storm chances Monday look low, but they will build up later this week as temps stay in the 90s.
